We offer three digital module types, including Level 1 with a sensor, USB, and charging port, Level 2 that also offers an On/Off button, and Level 3 with additional On/Off and Volume buttons.

4) Decide on Upgrades

The custom song music box will play back the original version of the song, an instrumental, a unique version you might have, or we can even convert the song to play just like a mechanical music box movement.

What kind of music can the digital module play?

The digital module can pretty much play anything that can be recorded. From your child's recital, a personal message you recorded for someone, or a song you heard before. Regarding ideal file types, any file format will work, as it will always be converted down to an MP3 format.

Do you make custom mechanical movements?

We do offer the ability to facilitate having a custom mechanical movement created for you.

What does a conversion or a converted tune mean?

Within the digital module option, you can choose to have your recorded file “converted” to sound like a music box. Instead of the full instrumental sound, you’ll hear a delicate tinkling melody that seems as if it’s coming from an 18-note mechanical module. This is an optional, paid service.

Should I choose the extra $75 option if my song is already in music box format?

No. Submitting a previously converted melody will save you money and speed up the delivery time frame.

How does the Bluetooth feature work in custom music boxes?

The Bluetooth functionality on our music boxes allows you to listen to any song, playlist, or recording beyond what is already uploaded onto your music box. Learn how to operate the Bluetooth feature for your music box with these steps:

Hold down the Bluetooth button for two seconds to enter Bluetooth mode.
Look for “music box” on your Bluetooth-enabled device (phone or computer).
Select the music box name and link the two devices.
Enjoy new playlists or stream music instantly from your phone to your music box.
Revert your music box back to normal play mode by pressing the Bluetooth button again.
If you selected to have Bluetooth only, the music box will only stream music from your Bluetooth device.

All of your preloaded songs will remain on the music box, regardless of which mode it’s in. When you’re ready to listen to the original preloaded song or playlist, simply revert to music box mode.

What are the benefits of the Bluetooth upgrade for personalized music boxes?

There are a number of benefits of using your music box with the Bluetooth functionality, including:

Mechanical movements create music using a mechanism consisting of a steel comb that 'plucks' the teeth on a revolving cylinder with a comb. Each ‘pluck’ creates a note in a song. Basic musical movements are our 18-note mechanisms. But you can also purchase 30, 50, and 72-note custom music box movements.

On the other hand, non-custom, standard list music box movement models come pre-loaded with a song. Our customizable music box movements allow you to make your song and note size! They make the perfect personalized music box keepsake for you or a loved one!
