Because we have such a massive selection of musical boxes, we’ve made it easier to shop based on your interests. Explore some of our most popular themed boxes, including:
Some novelty music boxes are ornate, with intricate details painted on the lid. Others have transparent designs on glass or plastic so that the viewer can see the movement’s inner workings. We even have music boxes with moving parts that spin once you turn the key.
Once you’ve chosen a vintage Reuge music box to love, you’ll see that we allow you to pick your own song as well. Browse an extensive list of melodies and hear how they will sound coming from your box when you explore our listening library.
Some of these Reuge 72-note music boxes already have a melody pre-installed that we cannot change. In these cases, we recommend exploring our engraving options for additional personalization. Explore some samples here to find inspiration.
Reuge is a Switzerland-based music box manufacturer with over 150 years of experience crafting and building music boxes. Beautiful and technically precise, all Reuge 72-note music boxes are held to the highest standards of music and aesthetics. While Reuge has a passion for traditional music box crafting, they’re also constantly searching for new materials, themes, and acoustic technology to elevate their designs to a new vision of elegance and sophistication.

Moments Worth Sharing
Every music box becomes part of someone's story. Here are a few of the moments our customers chose to make unforgettable.
These music boxes are handmade by a Swiss-based company called Reuge and feature their iconic crafting techniques. The note size indicates how many teeth are in the mechanical movement, allowing your music box to display enhanced versatility when playing songs. Lower note sizes excel at playing simpler melodies, while 72- and 144-note sizes enable longer, more complex songs.
With these vintage Reuge music boxes, you’re getting 72 notes in the music module, instead of just 18 notes. With more notes available on the comb, these types of music boxes can better replicate richer, more orchestral melodies. They’re more accurate to the original version of any song and can play longer than lower-note music boxes.
Yes, some of these music boxes can also double as jewelry or keepsake boxes. Browse the images on each product page to determine whether it has ring rolls or other storage areas. However, most of our 72-note music boxes focus on the music module itself, featuring a transparent layer that lets you watch the module as it plays.
